Appalling

Four years of premiums without one claim. Refused to cover damage to roof of property despite admitting there were 'storm conditions' in the area at the time. Will be shopping for another provider. Avoid. Reviewed on: 13th September 2017

Awful service, VERY restrictive policy.

Horrendous Service (Home Insurance)

Having been with lloyds for 21 years for home insurance and paying £85 per month I was horrified to be told that I'd need to pay £1000 excess for cracked internal wall. Let me tell you this was advised by advisor on the phone and he asked did I know how and when the crack appeared, did I know a structural engineer! Seriously! He told me to contact a builder get a quote then they'd decide if I would be covered. Did as they requested only to be told the crack in my wall did not cover me,with no good reason given to why I was not covered. Frustrated by the situation I contacted there complaints team and I'm still not really any further forward, I've now contacted the financial ombudsman and will await there outcome. AVOID THIS COMPANY! Reviewed on: 3rd September 2017

Cheap cover, but lousy big claim response

My elderly and disabled mum's home was severely damaged by a fire started by a negligent workman working at a neighbouring property. Lloyds loss assessor was charming and effusively reassuring at first but utterly appalling to deal with. Despite the fact that Lloyds are reclaiming the settlement from next door's insurers, he quibbled and fought on every bit of expense. Next door's settlement (mirror image semi) was £260k. Mum's home, which also needed back-to-brick repair & refurb throughout, he fought to keep down to well under 100k. She ended up having to shell out thousands from her own pocket. He wouldn't approve anything that he felt wasn't 100% down to the extensive smoke and water damage to the property, added several months' delay to works being completed by insisting on needless third party tests (that confirmed our own workmens' finding), curtailed the time they were prepared to pay for alternative accommodation, and in short showed no shred of practical sympathy, understanding or flexibility to meet the needs of a very vulnerable, elderly & disabled client. I wouldn't call him a heartless bastard. Given enough time I'm sure I could come up with a complimentary description - just can't think of one offhand. Won't touch Lloyds again. Our boiler actually broke yesterday and was amazed when we called up Lloyds, they got someone out the same day to fix it. Called back when they said they would, perfect service!! We have two young children so really pleased our hot water was back within a day! Reviewed on: 15th July 2017

Insures I Pay Less

In conjunction with my mortgage review I obtained a new home and contents policy with Lloyds about 2 years ago and make an annual saving of around £900 per year, as I was previously locked into very high rates with my previous provider. I'm sticking with Lloyds for now, but my next review is imminent, so may look around to see other offers, but at the same time I'm confident from my experiences so far with Lloyds, that they will be in the market to negotiate. Totally disgusted total avoid them poor customer service

Had a ridge tile from the main roof blown off by the wind damaging the garage roof on the process. Called lloyds for help this is there BS reply. 1. Can't fix/ replace tile because the wind force responsible for the damage doesn't qaulify with Thier criteria it has to be 55 mph. Wind apparently at that time was 40 mph. Who are they kidding? Have they been out measuring the exact wind strenght that day? What about wind gust? They blow more that prevailing winds isn't not? A single tile couldn't be blown off by 40 mph wind? Maybe the entire roof would be affected but one tile? Surely it doesn't weight a ton? 2. Secondly, They asked me what f I had maintenance done to the roof? It's a 14 yr old roof looks like new I said Why fix when there's nothing wrong with it. They said they can't fix my wind blown tile because I haven't cleaned my gutters and and maintained my roof. Total BS! Again ( I would surmise if I did say yes I had t cleaned then they would probably come up with an excuse saying it was weakened by people climbing on the roof hence the damage) they're just looking for reason not to pay the repair bill. 3. Thirdly, they Won't cover water damage due to hole in garage roof? Reason , Not part of accident damage? Surely that's sound like accident to me it was not done intentionally. This guys are crooks beware. They should stick to banking as surely they are incompetent in insurance. Reviewed on: 13th June 2017

Nearly lost for words at poor service

1
Almost unbelievable poor customer service with regard to claiming through home insurance, and a staggeringly bad policy/poor instructions when trying to provide them with evidence with what has been stolen. Have had to send them the same thing three times now and still getting nowhere with it. Would not recommend under any circumstances. Reviewed on: 6th June 2017
