Don't trust Santander

We have a roof leak and Santander who I have been with for a decade or more refused to help because they told us that the wind didn't reach 55mph in our area for the 6 weeks - it's easy to sit on system and say we didn't have bad storms when in fact we did! a number of trees came down that saw roads closed for a day and our neighbour also had a roof leak that was damaged by wind and rain and they managed to claim on their insurance so guess where I am going - I even had assessment coverage too but no one to come out - so many loop holes and quite frankly disgusted!! Dreadful experience with Santander policy

I have cancelled my policy with Santander as no help was given with our claim from a water leak.. We asked twice for an assessor to attend and assess our shower leak and had no reply on both occasions. Our plumber sent in many photos and reports on the issue also to no avail. Absolutely Terrible Experience!!!

I strongly advise against using Santander Home Insurance, especially if you're in Spain. Their communication is non-existent – it's practically impossible to reach anyone when you need help. Emails go unanswered, phone calls get you nowhere, and you’re left completely in the dark. When it comes to filing a claim, prepare for total frustration. They always find a way to deny it, no matter how valid it is. It feels like they are just looking for excuses not to pay out, and they blatantly ignore you in the process. Trying to cancel the policy? Good luck. They make it as complicated and drawn out as possible, clearly hoping you’ll just give up so they can keep charging you. This company is a complete waste of money. They take your premiums but provide zero service or support. I regret ever signing up and would never recommend Santander Home Insurance to anyone. Affordable and Hassle-Free

I've had a great experience with Santander home insurance. The pricing is very competitive, offering solid coverage at an affordable rate. The application process was incredibly straightforward and user-friendly, making it quick and easy to get my home insured. Annual renew price has been fair - so far.

We have recently had a dreadful experience with Sant...

We have recently had a dreadful experience with Santander home insurance . I would never recommend them . They were difficult to contact, lost our documents , refused to pay for items that were stolen when we had a break in at our apartment , despite having proof we were a couple residing together from the municipality. We were able to provide proof of payment for all the items stolen but only paid out for some of the items after months of calling and e mailing them. Then they wanted a proof of kinship and made it so impossible and traumatising that we do not want anyone to ever go through this experience. I cannot stress strongly enough .. Please do not get your house insured with Santander home insurance . Reviewed on: 25th March 2024

Poor service

Having been paying Santander insurance for over 25 years the service received is very poor was guided to make a claim online due to storm damage then basically had 5 emails back and forth after providing pictures of internal water damage was told damage looks like it was there before the storm no assessor was sent even though I asked fora visit basically I believe they use aviva now and I’m not impressed the correspondence from the claims department has not impressed me I will be switching to a different provider Reviewed on: 9th November 2023
