Posted application for an ISA but 5 days later

Posted application for an ISA but 5 days later I hadn't heard if it had been received. The application was along with a cheque. I checked my account where the cheque was to be drawn from and it hadnt been cashed in. I called the MBS branch and customer services informed me that my account had been opened and they were awaiting the transfer in from my previous ISA. Customer Services were pleasant and efficient. It would have been helpful to have an email or text to say that the application had been received, that then reassures that the process is in hand. This is my only complaint about MBS otherwise they are helpful and local to me. Reviewed on: 19th May 2026

A Good Notice Account That Met My Needs

This was a good notice account. Any questions I had about it were answered accurately and quickly. However, as my needs changed I was able to put this money into an ISA, and with interest rates trending upwards and a lot of competition it made sense to take every opportunity to avoid run-away taxation.
