Longtime happy customer

I have been with Nationwide for many years and always find them very helpful, and I like the fact that they have such a strong High Street presence - I mostly do my banking through the app but there are some situations where you actually want to speak to someone face to face. The annual fairer share payment is a nice bonus too! Reviewed on: 3rd September 2026

Does everything I need from a current account

The 24/7 self-service foyer at my local branch with a paying-in machine is something I genuinely value — not all banks offer that. Minor gripe: the machine menus are noticeably slower than what I've used at Halifax. The Fairer Share scheme is a nice bonus too, keep a minimum £100 in savings and it pays off. I love everything about Nationwide!

I love everything about Nationwide - from the 6.5% interest regular saver (best interest rate available for an instant access account when opened) to the Flex account that includes travel insurance, breakdown cover and mobile phone insurance for a very reasonable monthly fee. I have also had a Nationwide credit card for over 20 years that remains fee free to use abroad. And not forgetting the £100 annual bonus for simply having 2 accounts with them!
