I love dealing with Nationwide.

I love dealing with Nationwide. Not only do you get to speak to a human being on the end of the phone but each year they offer a Fairer Pay scheme where they give their members £100 which I think is fabulous given that interest rates aren't the best. To open an account is very simple and can be done online and transferring money is equally just as straight forward. I've been with them for years and wouldn't have it any other way. I have been a Nationwide customer for twelve years now. I was ambling along , doing quite well or so I thought but then I had a lifechanging event and I fell apart. Executor account hell with NBS

Used Flex account as executor account to distribute estate according to Will. However Nationwide force you to drip feed small payments over days, adding more administration from me to my siblings because I've never made a payment to them before. It caused deep distress to me, especially after a long, slow death of my father. I understand Fraud but no leniancy. Made a complaint but the timing to resolve means I won't get the help I need. Even having to pay to send money via CHAPS will solve the problem. It appears bereavement isn't catered for at Nationwide. Reviewed on: 26th May 2026

I’ve been really pleased with my experience using Nationwide’s FlexAccount. It’s a straightforward everyday current account with no monthly fee, which makes it great for managing day-to-day banking without worrying about extra charges.
