Good enough

I opened a joint bank account with my husband shortly after getting married. Everything was easy enough and straight forward, app all good and customer service was friendly. The only downside is we were assured that opening the account wouldn’t affect our credit files as we were building credit for a mortgage application. It did affect it, as they carried out searches to open the new account, which dropped our credit by several dozen points for over 3 months. Very frustrating as the advisor seemed very convincing. Perhaps she believed it wouldn’t affect it, if so, additional ongoing training should be implemented. Reviewed on: 29th March 2022

Card cloned at ATM and rectified same day

we had our debit card cloned from a ATM and Natwest had it all sorted and our account balance restored within the same day. The app is great, lets you know instantly if your account has received a transaction.. you can review it before it automatically gets taken out.... great piece of mind Reviewed on: 21st April 2025

I opened an account with NatWest when I first moved to the UK — not out of preference, but because I needed an account with a mainstream bank. Since then, I’ve ended up with three accounts: a basic current account and two savings accounts. While everything works fine on a functional level, the overall experience feels a bit uninspired. The interest rates on savings are especially disappointing, making it hard to see much value in keeping multiple accounts with them. It does the job, but doesn’t offer much beyond the basics. Used the NatWest for over 20 years

Used the NatWest for over 20+ years. Majority of my banking is satisfactory but not when it comes to going on holiday. I always advise the bank of my travel dates and they still let me down by allowing payments on my card when I am not in the country. My card was scammed and they blocked my card without contacting me leaving me without money on holiday. I found it impossible to contact them on the phone and I didn’t have access to the internet.
