Had a renewal of over £10 more a month went on comparison sites found cheaper than I pay now with them. They wouldn’t match then tried scare tactics stating my pet wouldn’t be insured for 14 days when she’s covered with them until the 28th. Terrible service Reviewed on: 15th February 2024

Very disappointed and no empathy

Took our 15 year old yorkie (bob) to vets as he was urinating more,loosing weight and dry skin he had bloods taken, indicating little change in his liver so the vet wanted to scan him incase there was any hidden abnormalities. Bottom line is tesco will not cover him for treatment due to seizers that has had 3 times last year they said it was PRE existing illness connects to the liver. I lost my dog at nearly 7 year old they asked for more information from my vet which they were supplied with, they still refused to pay out, the dog was insured with Tesco since he was 3 months old, I have been asked for a bank statement from 7 years ago to prove how much I paid,also I have been told while on the phone they can’t hear me and put phone down,I have been past from pillar to post people who where handling the case had been taken ill , I have been given so many excuses it’s untrue, also RSA insurance who work with Tesco are just as bad,they are a disgrace to pet owners and should not be trading, I will be taking this further, Please do not insure your animal with tesco you will regret it trust me I did, they are fine at taking your money,paying you is a different story Reviewed on: 4th January 2024

Awful experience!

I made the pet insurance almost a year ago. My cat started to have some health issues in September this year and I saw the vet, who diagnosed her with thyroid issues. I paid £500 for blood tests and other tests and made a claim to get some of my money back. It's been two months and I haven't heard anything and every time I called I've been advised to wait! I've put in a complaint regarding the way my claim has been handled and guess what? They sent me a letter acknowledging the complaint stating that they have 8 weeks to reply! Absolutely awful experience! I'm looking now for a better insurer who actually pays not just takes your money! Reviewed on: 29th November 2023

I had a very negative experience with these guys! I made the claim more than a month ago and I'm still waiting for a final decision. I've made call after call and I've been told every time that I need to wait! Now I'm thinking that I need to change the insurer and get my money back! Uncaring horrible company. AVOID!

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. Theyll take your money and do everything possible not to pay a claim. We put in a genuine claim and were made to feel like criminals, they called us dishonest and fraudulent. Then on 7th Nov they said they'd cancelled our policy from 5th Sept and we would not get a refund for the previous 2 months. Do yourself a favour and insure with someone else, don't give these criminals your money. Terrible, disgusting company. You've been warned Reviewed on: 7th November 2023

PET INSURERS THAT CARE

I’ve used Tesco bank to insure my cat since I’ve had him but had never made a claim. He became poorly & I made several trips to the vet. He had a small procedure at the vet followed by an operation at a specialist animal hospital. I updated Tesco each time and they were very quick to pay out. My cat needed a follow up op which Tesco authorised but my cat unfortunately died before op day. Tesco paid for his final cremation. They cancelled my insurance & even repaid part of that month’s insurance that I’d already paid by d/d. A week later they also sent me a beautiful condolences letter. THANK YOU TESCO FOR GOING ABOVE & BEYOND! I will definitely be insuring my next pet with you. ❤️ Reviewed on: 21st October 2023
