Shocking

Shocking! I have paid insurance for 25 years and never claimed, then unfortunately I had to make a claim to find that my cover wasn't what I thought and I lost £12,000. They would rather pay someone to investigate their customers (over an hour being quizzed) to try and find the loop hole to save them paying out!! Reviewed on: 11th October 2022

ITEMS AWAY FROM HOME NOT COVERED

Found out they have no "items away from the home up to say £2000" like others do. We lost a watch worth £600 but would not accept our claim because it was not specified on the policy. Was told that ANYTHING we take out of the home had to be specified on the policy. What a load of rot. Never had this before but shows you get what you pay for which in this instance is bugger all. Awful customer service.

Terrible Customer Service!!!

Policy up for renewal. I've had no communication, I cannot access documents online, was told the online webchat is unavailable and when I was forced to call, waited for 30 minutes on hold until I was hung up on! Terrible service, stay well clear! Reviewed on: 10th January 2024

What a bunch of chancers

Used this mob reluctantly last year for Home insurance but at point of renewal they increased the policy nearly 4 fold from £160 up to £585. When I checked out similar policies on-line they we much closer to the £160 than to the £585 so simply didn't renew. The people who run this business are clearly a bunch of clowns, and fail to understand even the basics about customer retention. 15 years without a single claim

After 15 years with esure without a single claim the roof on my house was damaged by a storm. They sent a surveyor round who said my roof was not covered by my policy. What a ripoff. Do not use these people. Reviewed on: 17th October 2023

Poor customer service

Been with esure for a year. Their customer service is very poor. I have called multiple times throughout my policy and every time is a long waitlist saying 'we are unusually busy today'. ITS NOT UNUSUAL IF ITS EVERYDAY, you're just short staffed. Initially I opened a claim with them however then decided to drop the claim against another driver. at least an hour wait on both times I have tried to call the claims team and cancel it. Easy to deal with

I telephoned to renegotiate the latest quote since it was higher than usual; they offered to keep last year's price! Very friendly people in the call centre that is based in Britain. Reviewed on: 28th August 2023

Straightforward and Upfront

Low initial settlement offer

My car was broken into and my laptop (an insured, specified item, out of the home) was taken. When I claimed on my insurance, the claim handler initially offered me the value of a Grade C second hand item based on a dodgy website which was out of stock, even though the policy required me to supply the new replacement cost each year I took out the insurance.
