After seeing them come up on several comparison sites including moneysupermarket who I usually find quite trust worthy, I thought I'd give this one a go as I wanted to carry out a 0% interest balance transfer.

Well, the only modern part of the application was applying for it online. When I read I'd receive the terms in the post I presumed the card would come along with it too, alongside my limit. Well they did send terms but that was for me to sign and return before they send a card. (Do they recruit people who did office work in the 80s and couldn't adapt to computers?) .

So after receiving my card I wanted to sort out the balance transfer, to do this I had to register for an account, but to pass the security questions I needed to know my limit, at which point I couldn't proceed because they hadn't told me. I then had to call someone who went through enhanced security in order to sort this out. The app is very outdated, you can't even amend the way you want to make a payment, or change the amount, you have to call!

Very clunky, so far not amazed. Will see how this goes long term.

I ignored all the bad reviews and have made the biggest mistake transferring to them. They are worst than awful. Opened a bank account, credit card, home insurance and saving account with them and now need a loan that they have refused. Their security checks for the opening of the bank account and the credit card have gone against my excellent credit score. How ridiculous is that. Joined in Oct 18 leaving Feb 19. Forget all the freebies they offer when you join as you'll eventually pay for them.

See the title , every time you need to do anything via internet or app it is antiquated and lags behind every bank I have ever experienced. Just spent an hour trying to make a transfer between accounts then had to try standing order, eventually had to call them who were fine but still time wasted for something straight forward. Please invest in a user friendly system soon

Always use these due to the 0% Apr just for the privilege of paying monthly and that their value limits are fantastic that I don’t have to phone up every time I purchase a new item of tech or jewellery. Only downside is having to switch between husband and my name as main account holder every year to maintain the 0%.

The first call I made to them to make the claim was great, but it all went downhill from there on. They contract the claim processing out to a company called IMS, who valued my car without even looking at it. It took weeks of negotiating with them to get the actual value of the car according to the valuing companies that they use, they didn't know what it should be because they hadn't even seen a picture of my car. When I complained to M+S, it took them two months to to get back to me, by which time I had already sorted it out myself.
I always pay a premium for insurance because I know that some of the cheaper ones can be difficult if you do have to make a claim, but in this instance the extra money was a complete waste and I'm sure I would have received far better service from cheaper providers.

Having switched over i am now completely regretting it.
- Had problems during the switch where my pay was lost (M&S did nothing to help this despite advertising they handle it all)
- The app is useless you cant do anything on it bar review a month of transactions
- You have to use an old school device to get into internet banking and it has to be the one sent to you originally otherwise it doesn't work
- You get sent piles and piles of paper rather than anything available online.

This has to be one of the most backwards banks out there which is completely not what is advertised

It takes nearly a month from application to delivery of card. The app for online banking is very basic. I chose to apply for this card over others due to the reward/cashback potential that comes with accumulating points for vouchers and the introductory points to get an easy £25 to spend at M&S - all it takes!

I am retired and with a very good pension. Their criteria was earn over £10,000 and have a good credit score. I chose M&S because they consider people in retirement. The letter they sent refused my application even though I earn double what was required, have a very good score but they said that I had a late payment on a credit card - which I disagree with. I have a maxed overdraft but never go over and they told me to load Experian which I did and it gave me an excellent score - not good enough for M&S although they said feel free to apply again in a year. Why bother if they say No now they will say No in a year. Can't really work out how and why I did not get it. They did however say they are not ageist - sorry but don't believe that at all.

Requested a credit card approximately a month ago and still not received my card. Was told it takes 2 weeks from returning paperwork which I did promptly. I rang after 2 weeks to see if they had paperwork and was told ‘yes we got it but we’re really busy at the moment - wait for another 2 weeks’. Still not got it. I will then have to order the second card for my wife as can’t order 2 straight away. They don’t even confirm for definite what the actual credit limit is until you get the card. Compared to other companies really slow service and delaying me from purchasing some big items from M&S ironically
