I had a letter saying that my home insurance policy was due to be automatically renewed but my payment details were out of date. I phoned the centre and they said that they can't do anything as they haven't got the details there themselves yet (but yet, I had a letter?).
With this in mind I took out a new policy. Days later, I saw that they had taken the money for the old policy as well! Long wait on the phone to sort their mistake out.
Also, like with all insurance companies, they will sting you on the renewal price if you don't shop around.

The phone manner of the customer service advisor is great though. The man was clear, happy to explain anything etc. so that's a plus.

I have had car insurance through the Post Office for a few years. However, this year when my insurance was due for renewal, I received a letter to say their panel of insurers were unable to offer me insurance. Nothing has changed since last year and I've not made any claims for years. They were unable to offer any explanation when I phoned. However, silver lining, I have got insurance with another reputable company at £100+ less!

Very poor disgusting customer Service does not warrant 1 star

Please do not ever take out a post office credit card as they will try and make money out of you at any costs and they do not even tell you when they remove a 0% balance transfer rate and start charging interest and in their words they do not have to tell you they have done it. Also the customer service complaints department is very rude they offer no customer service at all.

They do you on the renewal

Didn’t have any claims then got a renewal letter...gone up 35% for nothing. Log in to the online “self service” (ha!) system and you can’t cancel the renewal. Tried via the online chat. The online chat agent can’t cancel the renewal. I have to phone a ...

Didn’t have any claims then got a renewal letter...gone up 35% for nothing. Log in to the online “self service” (ha!) system and you can’t cancel the renewal. Tried via the online chat. The online chat agent can’t cancel the renewal. I have to phone a separate renewal agent (First Source)...and then spend forever on hold. I would just cancel the direct debit, but they have a separate credit agency who have just told me they will start charging if I don’t sign the paperwork as the renewal is valid...but I can’t get through on the phone because of Covid-19.... Why have a self service website if you can’t do anything? Bunch of jokers. Will never use post office for anything. Shoddy.

I already notified this credit card company about an unauthorised transaction a month ago.
Now today I receive my April statement with the same company taking another fraudulent payment from my account.
Working like crazy in the NHS and generally companies going out of the way to help us. These just put additional hurdles in the way. POST OFFICE GET RID OF BANK OF IRELAND FROM MANAGING YOUR CREDIT THEY ARE APPALLINGLY USELESS

When i opened the account they set it up with the wrong date of birth, took months to get it sorted, customer service unhelpful. After my name changed they can't change my name on there website so always shows old name. Set up a direct debit which didn't go through but saved my bank details on there system. When i had to get my name changed and date of birth corrected, I had to send a letter, with no proof, seemed very insecure and received no confirmation either time that it had been updated. Every time I've spoken to customer service they haven't really helped and come across a bit rude/ not bothered

Been a loyal customer for over a decade. Pay full monthly balance, never failed. Was ‘blackmailed’ into paying £1145.00 when falling ill abroad in February and had to change flight return date in an emergency. Loads of seats on aircraft.
Reported full facts to Post Office Credit Card bank in Ireland. No acknowledgement (only the bill) No email contact allowed. Phone lines engaged for hours. When finally connecting, staff totally unhelpful. Refused to ‘block’ the contested £1145.00. Told the full DIRECT DEBIT payment would be taken. Also told (by a person who’s spoken English was abysmal) that she had no way of contacting the claims s department.
Remember what the American Airline captain announced to his passengers...”This is your captain-speaking, we are about to land in Ireland, please put you watches back two hundred years.”

Having invested, through PO savings, for the last three years with an annual fixed rate bonus my online savings account needed to be renewed in December 2019.
Imagine my surprise when whilst renewing I was advised that they would have to confirm the source of my investment, when I was simply transferring money within their banking department.
It took them nearly two weeks to open the new account during which time the money earned .25%
They declined my formal complaint, I went to financial ombudsman and bingo they accepted my complaint and paid me for lost interest, but nothing for time wasted recovering what was mine.....
Avoid them at all cost, moral of story, I’ve got my lost interest now I’m moving all the money to somewhere else!!

I was due to travel to Italy this weekend Friday 13 March 2020, but the FCO have said only but essential travel due to Coronavirus, This was a family trip and we are all covered by different travel insurance policies Barclays, Virgin Money and the Post Office. We were obviously disappointed but started the process with our claims Barclays and Virgin dealt with this in efficient manner claim forms sent within minutes. The Post Office however took a different stance they will not cover you I unless you added on disruption to travel whilst purchasing. They are only one of a very few insurers who will NOT cover you . Your policy won’t cover you now if you travel and they won’t pay out because you can ‘t travel does not seem fair! The Post Office is a long standing institution and you would have thought you would have been safe in their hands - NO. Please be wary of purchasing a policy and carefully read the small print. Very disappointed in the customer Service team very dismissive and not willing to listen and not wiling to refer me to a Manager. I suggest you think very carefully before purchasing a policy with the Post Office,

Paid my card on the due date at 8pm and received a late payment fee, their day ends at 6pm and not midnight which it does for everyone else. More recently on a separate issue I recieved a letter about persistent debt, the information it contained failed to take into consideration the latest update from the FCA, but they didnt care about that and said they didnt know anything about it. I reported this to the FCA who took note and said the post office had been notified along with all the other companies.

Had my card refused in Singapore when I had plenty of credit available. Wrote to them on 5th December 2019 for an explanation and still waiting for a reply on 14th January 2020. It's not possible to contact them on their website by secure message and when you select "contact us" from the sitemap it loops you to a page selling credit cards and then back to your original page. This card is as bad as the ASDA card whose customer service dept is complete chaos. There are plenty of cards with decent customer service available so I shall be closing my account at the end of the month.

Applied for a loan on the basis of a headline rate. I have perfect credit and a substantial income. I was quoted 11% which is about 4 times the headline rate. When asked about why they refused to give any detail. I was left with a hard search on my Credit profile all because of false advertising. I complained and got absolutely nothing back but a sarcastic response and that I should contact the ombudsman. Honestly, if you are thinking of using them, please try Zopa first, they were fantastic and simple. Then if for any reason you don’t go with them, try every other provider apart from Tesco - equally horrific

... opened a Loyalty Saver account. Realised Key Facts summary sheet I'd downloaded showed a higher interest rate to the one showing online. Rang to check - told probably a misprint. A misprint, on a document that surely is part of your contract with PO? I asked to cancel account - suggested I could do this online. Yet online it tells you to ring or write in to do so.
I tried to take money out of the account online, but it said due to account changes I couldn't do this until 1 working day had elapsed. I tried again after 1 working day, only to now get an onscreen message saying I couldn't do this for 8 calendar days.
Under FAQs, under "I've paid money into my account, how long until it's available?", the answer is "Immediately", if the money was transferred in from another Post Office Money Savings Account, which this was. It's now 9 days since I opened this account online, and I still am unable to access my money to move it elsewhere.
So much wrong information and so many inconsistencies; I'm going elsewhere, if only they'll let me have my money back.

7 weeks ago I tried to open a new savings account. I received an email confirmation and then nothing. I phoned to enquire and was told that the checks could take ten days. I had no more contact but was unable to access my account and therefore my funds. During three further phone calls I was passed from person to person and twice ended up waiting for the technical department to contact me. No more contact. Finally today the customer representative provided me with a new pass number ( why could no one else do this?) and I am able to access my account. I still haven't managed to open a new account, I was offered £30 compensation, which I haven't received and I am now in the process of moving my accounts to another provider.

7 weeks ago I tried to open new accounts with better rates of interest. I received email confirmation and then nothing. I rang and was told it would take ten days. Nothing happened but I was unable to access my account and therefore my funds. All my phone calls came to nothing. I was left in the hands of the technical department who would contact me within 48 hours. Today finally the customer service representative replaced my log in details ( why the others couldn't do this I have no idea). I have been offered £30 compensation. This was to be paid into my savings account but I am yet to receive it. I am looking into a more reliable company.
