7 weeks ago I tried to open a new savings account. I received an email confirmation and then nothing. I phoned to enquire and was told that the checks could take ten days. I had no more contact but was unable to access my account and therefore my funds. During three further phone calls I was passed from person to person and twice ended up waiting for the technical department to contact me. No more contact. Finally today the customer representative provided me with a new pass number ( why could no one else do this?) and I am able to access my account. I still haven't managed to open a new account, I was offered £30 compensation, which I haven't received and I am now in the process of moving my accounts to another provider.

7 weeks ago I tried to open new accounts with better rates of interest. I received email confirmation and then nothing. I rang and was told it would take ten days. Nothing happened but I was unable to access my account and therefore my funds. All my phone calls came to nothing. I was left in the hands of the technical department who would contact me within 48 hours. Today finally the customer service representative replaced my log in details ( why the others couldn't do this I have no idea). I have been offered £30 compensation. This was to be paid into my savings account but I am yet to receive it. I am looking into a more reliable company.

Going to America with my family this year looked like it was getting compilated and costly with insurance quotes hat were both expensive and confusing. The post office gave clear advice and covered us at a fraction of the cost others had quoted. I have asthma and this didn't affect the cost massively. I would recommend to anyone.

Expensive with very limited cover and extortionate fees.

Very basic and low levels of cover for what you pay. Don't believe the hype, they may charge you £50 less than competitors but cover levels are tiny and unsuitable for purpose. Also fees applied to account are just stupid. £30 to arrange the policy, £...

Very basic and low levels of cover for what you pay. Don't believe the hype, they may charge you £50 less than competitors but cover levels are tiny and unsuitable for purpose. Also fees applied to account are just stupid. £30 to arrange the policy, £20 if you miss a payment, £35 to cancel a policy. Plus auto renewal of the policy with very little notice and generally premium goes up and cover levels remain static or decrease. Not recommended at all.

Been with Post Office for 2 years, I have no complains about the service. But last year, I received a letter with a substantial price increase, called to cancel, and they offered me an extremely competitive deal (better than other companies). Same thing happened this year, the policy price DOUBLED, they had a phone number on the leaflet which didn't work. Finally managed to google them and get a hold off them. This time they didn't offer a good deal, so cancelled my policy and switched to another company. These black hat marketing techniques are just plain wrong! And I believe people who are not internet savvy or pay attention to those things would get conned.

Took out a building and contents policy with them in Aug 2018 and immediately cancelled the continuous payment authority on my credit card. Received email from them in July 2019 stating that my policy would automatically be renewed in Aug 2019 with a 30% increase incidentally - no thank you. Was informed by a customer services representative that continuous payment authority and automatic renewal were two different things?????????
Be very careful if dealing with these guys.

I assumed when i set up a direct debit that the money would be taken regularly every month regardless. I was surprised to find my balance was not going down as I had paid extra, over & above my direct debit to pay card off. I realised they were not taking my direct debit, when I questioned this the adviser said if you pay any thing off your account your direct debit is canceled
out. What a good way to encourage people to get into debt! The customer adviser was very curt, offhand and not helpful at all. I will be getting rid of this card ASAP & will never use them again. So be careful if you have a direct debit & check your balance regularly

A few years back whilst on holiday our room got broken into and a few things were stolen. My camera was probably the most expensive item taken but The Post Office Travel Insurance were absolutely outstanding and sorted everything out for us leaving us with as less stress as possible. They really were brilliant! Ever since that incident I always use them for my Travel Insurance!
