Excellent service and got cash back for being loyal

Rewards loyalty which not many companies do. Would recommend to anyone. Have all my banking and mortgage with them. Reviewed on: 14th October 2016

best company we have used for mortgaging

We remortgaged back in 2011 to Nationwide. The process was really easy and all contact was friendly and professional. We have since remortgaged again in 2013 and 2015 and stayed with Nationwide both times as they have offered the best rate for us. The process has been so smooth and easy each time , stress free and worry free. I would really recommend you give them a look if you are thinking of changing your mortgage. mortgage approved quickly, but poor communications

I decided to use Nationwide for my first mortgage, and was impressed by how quickly it was approved. The application process was all done online, which I loved, and was simple and clear. However, I found the communications I received while waiting for the approval to be confusing. A number of the emails and texts about he process of the application were very unclear, and I ended up having to phone them for clarification. This made a stressful time even more stressful. Friendly and helpful

Applied for our Nationwide mortgage by phone as an appointment was available faster than in branch and we couldn't apply online as the mortgage ends after age 65 for my husband. Fast, friendly process with email updates on progress. Application fee (but not valuation or survey fee) is refundable if purchase doesn't complete, unlike most banks. Also, liked that we could email, unlike HSBC who we always had to phone (very time-consuming). The only problems were with a last minute request for proof of savings when we'd earlier been told all necessary documents had been in received. Also, there was confusion over a 5K retainer based on our valuation. Fortunately all was resolved in time for exchange 6 weeks after our offer had been accepted. Completion (nearly 3 weeks after exchange) was problem-free. We moved our current account and savings to Nationwide soon after, making overpayments via online banking easy. The whole process of taking out a mortgage with Nationwide was extremely smooth and efficient. Reviewed on: 2nd August 2016

Great for first time buyers due to the great fixed rate for at least 2 years Reviewed on: 29th June 2016

Convenient good value mortgage with no problems (so far!)

We remortgaged with Nationwide a couple of years ago onto a 5-year fix. The remortgage process was easy - I did it online and got £100 cashback for doing so. The rates at the time were competitive, so our financial advisor recommended just staying with our existing provider. The website is OK to use but I would like it to show monthly interest not just interest for the full year to date. Other than that no issues! Reviewed on: 20th June 2016

Excellent customer service throughout

We changed everything to nation wide never regretted a thing so good with us Reviewed on: 19th May 2016

Amazing

Very friendly, do not work on commission so their advise for first time buyers is astounding and you are not pressured into anything Reviewed on: 22nd April 2016

Straightforward mortages

We researched many companies for our first mortgage and they came up top in both the product and the service. It's straightforward with great options if you want to pay a little extra some months in order to not pay another month or just pay it off quicker Reviewed on: 28th March 2016
