Great customer service

We have just bought our mortgage with nationwide for our first home. They couldn't have been more helpful when we phoned them to discuss the terms etc. They explained the terms of the mortgage thoroughly and clearly when we were totally unaware. Definitely recommend them for first time buyers. Reviewed on: 24th December 2016

Great rate and service

After researching rates, Nationwide offered a competitive short term deal with no fee. It went through quickly with no issues. Reviewed on: 20th December 2016

Delay Delay Delay

Applied for mortgage in first week of July It is now coming up to mid-December, and don't even have an offer. "Two day turnaround" for reviewing documents is actually 4 days, before you can escalate the case. Note that escalation can take "one day" (three) to return to you. Reasons for delay vary from an incorrect valuation (said the property was underpinned, 1 month and several fees later showed it wasn't) and documentation they should have requested at application stage being requested 3 months later. Straight Forward Process

Taking out a Fixed Rate Mortgage with Nationwide was the most straightforward process from buying my new home. They kept me up to date with every stage of the process and they were always helpful when I contacted them. Reviewed on: 14th November 2016
