Having been a customer for a number of years, I had to make a claim on my home insurance after a water escape. Esure contracted the surveying work to Davies, who are unprofessional and not competent. It took almost 6 months for them to accept that a kitchen floor and underfloor heating cannot be replaced, without firstly removing the kitchen cabinets and appliances that sit on top of the floor. 9 months on still no update. They don’t give a damn.

9 months into a claim. Damaged drains caused sewage to back up and contaminate the crawl space beneath the ground floor of our house. Horrific smell throughout the house. We have flies and last week saw rats. Needs to be dug out and decontaminated but despite numerous phone calls and emails we have still not had one single update from esure or their loss adjusters. It’s been absolutely disgusting. Nobody willing to discuss it. The loss adjusters wanted to fix the drain and wait for the smell to subside. Utterly ridiculous. My wife has been in tears over this. I will never ever insure anything with this lot ever again in my lifetime. Reviewed on: 3rd April 2024

ITEMS AWAY FROM HOME NOT COVERED

Found out they have no "items away from the home up to say £2000" like others do. We lost a watch worth £600 but would not accept our claim because it was not specified on the policy. Was told that ANYTHING we take out of the home had to be specified on the policy. What a load of rot. Never had this before but shows you get what you pay for which in this instance is bugger all. Terrible Customer Service!!!

Policy up for renewal. I've had no communication, I cannot access documents online, was told the online webchat is unavailable and when I was forced to call, waited for 30 minutes on hold until I was hung up on! Terrible service, stay well clear! Reviewed on: 10th January 2024

What a bunch of chancers

Used this mob reluctantly last year for Home insurance but at point of renewal they increased the policy nearly 4 fold from £160 up to £585. When I checked out similar policies on-line they we much closer to the £160 than to the £585 so simply didn't renew. The people who run this business are clearly a bunch of clowns, and fail to understand even the basics about customer retention. I rang their office ready to explain to them that I wouldn't have renewed with them even at the same price because of their terrible reviews, one site alone had 61% 1 star and a big habit of trying not to pay out, but the operator couldn't care less that I wasn't interested in renewing and didn't want to engage to learn why.
