Yorkshire Building Society are on the Ball

5
End of tax year and start of new. Time to review options available, decide what you do and don't want. Make a list, YBS always updates those with email addresses (if they have given permission to YBS) with new offers etc. So can study at leisure, take time to decide. I use a Branch Office that is fairly near to me, (going on bus 3and half hours round trip) is the worst thing .The staff at YBS Branch are excellent, helpful, friendly and go the extra mile for their customers. Sometimes if going on holiday, a branch maybe near where you are visiting, if so, take a savings book and ID with you to draw out (If your Bank has been closed) this can be very useful. Maybe, the only draw back is not having a Branch more local to where I live. Then wouldn't need to plan a road trip, if not able to drive. Reviewed on: 17th April 2026

They have been fantastic from the 1st day I had an account with them. I go to an Agency Office, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Always willing to go the extra mile. Have a few accounts with them, they never rush me, and always reach my requirements. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2026

Book v Card.

Book v Card. Prefer the book, can keep a running record of how things are. Card - no ongoing record, too many bits of paper. yes they will ghive a small print - but how can you have 2 31 dec in 1 year? was told that they send statements out? only had 1 when it went onto card! web site states that they have not sent any statements for a few years! how can you know what they have informed HMRC about that you are unaware of? how can a small statement show so many IC (Interest and charges) when interest is only shown once a year? with a book you can keep track. Went in the day before to ask the procedure for opening an account. Was offered a form to take home or could do it there. Took form home and returned the following day. Took my ID's with me. They were able to open my account on the spot. Maybe, because I always go into town early. Reviewed on: 12th December 2025
