Gruelling experience from my time with LOQBOX

I was a Loqbox customer for nearly three years and wanted to try their credit products and was attracted by their Loqbox save feature. I have written some very positive comments regarding this company , mainly Althing the prospect of being able to save and build credit at the same time . It wasn’t until end of last year that I started to have several problems with the rent reporting feature in the online portal and to make things worse , I am disabled as well and found their portal really clunky and if you accidentally click a button (due to dexterity issues) and despite the company stating that immediate cancellation results in a refund , the system does not allow cancellation and deducts the charges from the premium features like the Gold bolt on or the financial support services that come with it irrespective df cancelling it via their crowded portal . Then came the most difficult bit- every message in the app or email triggers a new reference, then dealt by an incompetent bot followed by every email contradicting the other . After spending so much time and wasted energy in back and forth, often repeated communications, I finally decided to cancel and completely close and settle my dealings with this organisation . This was only further hit with a lot of deliberate bureaucratic hurdles and really luring prompts on the portal stating leaving will damage my credit profile (despite following their terms of closure to the dot). The only solace my wife and I had was in the final week of closure , from a customer agent named Craig who I must say did tgeir best to help to finally settle and close down both our accounts for good . To be honest, I have not seen any positive results within my credit file despite being for nearly three years and spending nearly £1k plus . I know some people find it useful but sadly in my experience it has been the opposite. I still haven’t recovered from the deterioration in health this negative relentless experience has given me. . It is not completely closed on my credit files yet and hence I am holding on to every communication and screenshots in case I need to escalate regarding this issues to the ombudsman. If I would’ve known about this in advance, I would have rather just paid my bills on time and opted for my own credit builder card or some other competitors out there whose services come without any of these hassles I’ve described. Review of the Tembo Money, Cash ISA:

Accessible but interest rates are low

I came across the Cash ISA when I was depositing some money in the Tembo Homesaver. In my view, I feel the Tembo Cash ISA 3.8% interest rate I get is not a majorly impressive feature given the interest rate I get with some of the other competitors I have ISA products with are of higher interest, unlimited withdrawal and the biggest bobus- being flexible overall. I would however rate the easy accessible open banking money transfers to be one of its plus points but the delay in receiving the payments could be much better . For starters, Tembo money is a good substitute place to keep our cash ISA but unfortunately wasn’t that impressive to me overall. Thank you Reviewed on: 10th March 2026
