Opening an account with nationwide is so easy you can even do it online these days.When I incurred charges a couple of money's ago the friendly customer service cleared them for me due to the fact I was been charged for such a small amount overdrawn however if you do go overdrawn there is no way normally to avoid charges unlike Lloyds tsb who give you till 3pm on the day of going over to top up you account and not get charged.

After having a current account I switched to a silver account due to the fact that although you have to pay just under £8 a month for the account it also includes free car break down cover, mobile phone insurance plus more. The breakdown cover has come in handy quite a few times so far! This saved me money as it was cheaper to pay for the account rather than pay for breakdown and phone cover.
