Purchased Virgin Travel Insurance in good faith.

Purchased Virgin Travel Insurance in good faith. WHen our luggage was lost on a Jet2 flight from Geneva, we made a claim only to find out that the coverage was handled by ERGO. ERGO is a typical faceless insurance company whose sole aim seems to be to deny claims. They are constantly busy, take 3 weeks between claim and responding - then list reasons why you won't get paid. Any valuables in your hold luggage are not covered apparently. Hidden in the small print. So forget anything of value. They demand receipts for anything you are claiming for. Who keeps receipts for anything they have bought years before? The whole thing smacks of a scam. Forget taking travel insurance, particularly from a company that farms it out to faceless corporations whose aim is to deny the claim. It is literally throwing money down the drain. All in my personal opinion. Reviewed on: 19th February 2026
