Title: Charged for a policy I never validated

Review: I attempted to arrange van insurance with Van Line Direct but did not proceed because they required a validation phone call before the policy could start. I never completed this call and clearly informed them that I did not want the policy. Despite this, a payment was taken from my card and I later received numerous automated emails and SMS messages demanding payment and warning about debt collection. At the same time my vehicle was already insured with another insurer from the same start date. The matter is now under formal complaint review and may be amended to “cancelled as not taken up”. My main concern was the difficulty contacting the company and the continued automated debt warnings during an active dispute. Reviewed on: 5th March 2026
