StepChange have helped me become debt free, I completed the budget form and entered in the amount that I owed and they gave me a plan to pay off my debt in a way I could manage. They contacted credit card companies and asked them to waive interest fees, which meant I could pay off my debt, without the balance increasing due to fees, which is the very stressful part, paying off a credit card and not seeing the balance reducing because of interest. Whenever I contacted StepChange the customer service was always helpful, sympathetic, friendly, kind and non-judgemental. I do not know what I would have done without StepChange and I am so grateful for the service they provide. Reviewed on: 10th July 2026

I had some debt and wasn’t sure what to do.

I had some debt and wasn’t sure what to do. Step change offered advice and calculated a payment plan, I haven’t had to think about my debt I just make the monthly payments. Reviewed on: 27th May 2026
