Post office isas managed by one family

My mother recently died ,getting money from most places was easy even post office saving accounts but not ISA,s managed by one family .My mother had 2 small ISAs I was sent a letter asking for documents required which I was doing at some expense and time as that they had to be copy’s and authenticated at cost and sent special delivery ,I was on the final document when they decided without giving reason they wanted probate .They reserve the right to do this apparently , but why do it after telling you what they need then change their mind and won’t give a reason .In a time of grief I found them uncaring and deliberately obstructive ,they probably like to hold on to peoples money .It was a small amount way below what most banks need probate for ..Should change name from one family to Don’t care about family ,there are much better people around to give your money to manage Reviewed on: 4th August 2026
