Still the best card for European holidays

4
The Halifax Clarity Credit Card is still one of the best cards to use abroad. We use it for everyday spending in the UK and abroad, and also for cash withdrawals in Europe. It gives a good exchange rate, and we always transfer money across to cover the cash withdrawal, so it doesn't accrue much interest. You must always ALWAYS pay it off in full though. It also pays £5 cashback per month if spending £300 or more in a month. Reviewed on: 21st November 2016

Current account paying £5 a month

5
I've held a Halifax current account for years, and now hold a second, joint account, too. Both pay £5 per month as long as we pay £750 in every month - my salary goes into one then gets partially transferred into the other account. So I earn £10 per month for banking with Halifax. You have to watch out not to go overdrawn, though, as charges are high. The staff in my local branch are also really helpful and polite, and queues are always kept to a minimum. A bit of a shame about the online e-saver and the online cash ISA rates, these used to be much better a few years ago. Reviewed on: 26th January 2016

Great credit card for overseas spending

5
The Halifax Clarity credit card is one of the best cards for overseas spending, and even cash withdrawal. Since owning this card, I've stopped exchanging money when going abroad, I use the card instead to withdraw currency abroad. I also use it to pay in currency overseas. Cannot comment on the interest rates, as my card is paid off in full each month. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Good introductory offer, terms easy to understand

4
Currently with Hiscox for my home (contents only) insurance. Main reason I changed from the previous provider was for the price - Hiscox had a good introductory or cashback offer on. It's a bonus that their insurance terms were neasy to understand, it was all explained in Plain English. So far so good. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Good customer service, good introductory offer

4
I bought my home (contents only) insurance from Post Office last year. They had a good introductory offer (promised to beat my renewal by a significant amount), so it was worth choosing them. I only stayed with Post Office home insurance for a year, although when I phoned to cancel after a year, they were actually really helpful, and offered a good discount again. Very good customer service, it's worth talking to them on the phone. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015
