Unwilling to negotiate on price

Hi, I was looking for affordable car insurance as there appears to be a huge, sudden and unjustified increase in the prices. I was unable to access or accept my quote online and decided to ring instead with the intention of getting a discount on my original quote. However, despite explaining that the price continues to increase, even after a few days, there was no discount available and the operator refused to offer a reduction. This was extremely disappointing as many of us, especially those from a vulnerable and low income household, are facing heightened costs. To make matters, I was then being pressured into accepting building/ contents insurance and if I chose to go ahead with that, I would receive a post-offer discount on my car insurance (which I had already paid for). I felt that this was a somewhat deceptive and underhanded method of trying to procure more money from me.
