Basic, no-frills bank account

3
This account could appeal to anyone looking for a straightforward bank account that charges no monthly fee but also allows them to earn interest on their balance. You can also benefit from cashback at selected retailers and round up your card payments with the Save the Change feature. Reviewed on: 26th February 2025

As advertised.

Like most of us, I am legally required to have insurance. I've never had to claim, but the industry's reputation leaves a lot to be desired. That's the insurance racket for you. Reviewed on: 24th August 2024

The pervasive impact of white mediocrity

1
The branch in Morningside Edinburgh is grossly inefficient and run by a manager who struts around with an iPad asking people inane things like, ‘how are you with the cash machine, alright?’, but he couldn’t help me to get a diary slot in his colleague’s diary to set up an Executor Account. The cashiers seem fine but don’t try to do anything out of the norm. Can’t do it online, can’t do it in branch so I will take my business to another bank. Reviewed on: 24th May 2024

It's insurance, so it's not too exorbitant. Reviewed on: 25th August 2020
