About this product

Kingsbridge IR35 Protect cover is a 'market-leading' insurance product available as a stand-alone policy or as an addition to our core business insurance package. It primarily protects limited company contractors from the potentially crippling costs that can follow an IR35 enquiry. They can include defence costs, taxes and interest — on top of any penalties from IR35 investigations that may be payable to HMRC.

I guess it's the best of a poor bunch

I really loath how I have to add other irrelevant insurance details (like my PI insurance) in order to get the IR35 contract test result. Reviewed on: 16th August 2023

Competitively priced policies

I have been a customer of Kingsbridge for a number of years and always renew my policy with them on an annual basis. Each year seems to get better with the price of the policies and options available. IR35 Assessment tool is really useful.

Our limited company does between 5 to 10 small contracts per year, so the ability to do multiple IR35 status assessment checks without additional cost gives both us and customer peace of mind, and also to negotiate with our customer on risky clauses in the contract before we sign it. Really helpful on IR35

Kingsbridge provide really helpful newsletters and articles on IR35 and a contract review service (at a really reasonable price!) - I have found them really helpful in navigating this issue Reviewed on: 24th July 2023

Do not give renewal quote in enough time

As an insurance provider they don’t have to do anything 99.9% of the time and so it’s quite hard to rate a service that just basically takes money for no real world return. However, their auto renewal process is severely flawed. They are supposed to send the renewal quote in enough time for a customer to assess and then make a decision. Kingsbridge send the renewal quote 10 minutes before taking the payment. I’m currently investigating the legality of this action. I cannot, consciously, recommend them on this basis and will be moving to a new provider next year. Reviewed on: 24th July 2023
