I’ve had a very disappointing experience with Alphera Finance and feel compelled to warn others. Due to a change in employment and reduced household income,... I’ve had a very disappointing experience with Alphera Finance and feel compelled to warn others. Due to a change in employment and reduced household income, I recently found myself in financial difficulty and contacted StepChange for support. As part of taking responsibility for my situation, I reviewed my outgoings and decided my PCP vehicle agreement with Alphera was no longer affordable. Trying to handle things properly, I requested a settlement figure (£18,553) and obtained independent valuations of the vehicle (around £13,200), expecting a shortfall of roughly £5,300 which I was prepared to address through my Debt Management Plan. However, when discussing voluntary termination, Alphera advised that I would need to pay over £10,800 — almost double what I reasonably expected. This is because they include 50% of the optional final balloon payment in the calculation, even though the car is being returned and I will never own it. When the car breaks, you are on your own

Setting up a PCP car finance plan with Alphera (through the Broker Zuto was easy. The latter does most of the work including negotiating with the car dealer.) This part of the experience is very good. However, if something goes wrong with the car you really are on your own. My engine suffered a catastrophic failure with a repair bill of £7000 after just over a year. Alphera finance company told me, a) I can pay off the car and keep it b) early surrender but I pay a huge fee and also pay the difference between the book value and what they get at an auction (with a dead engine it would not be much) c) And I must continue to pay the monthly amount regardless. Alphera technically own the car until the last balloon payment is paid, I was just seeking some help with the repair cost. Even though the actual fault is a known weakness in this type of engine (so was present at the time of purchase) I have been informed that all liability is with me and they are not prepared to entertain any financial assistance. So, I do not own the car, the engine repair bill is mine to bear and Alphera could not care less. They are not prepared to do anything to assist. Thanks!     I am extremely dissatisfied with the way this company has handled my account. I always paid every monthly payment on time and in full, never... I am extremely dissatisfied with the way this company has handled my account. I always paid every monthly payment on time and in full, never once falling into arrears. After my car was stolen, the insurance company paid around 80% of the remaining balance, and I personally settled the difference just a few days later. Despite this, I was wrongly informed that my account was “in arrears.” When I questioned how this was possible, given my flawless payment history, I was told: “it’s just the way we do things.” Shortly after, I received a formal “Notice of Arrears” from their collections department, along with an FCA flyer about debt advice and financial stress. This was completely inappropriate, misleading, and insulting, considering my account was never in arrears at any point. In my view, this company’s conduct is unacceptable, unprofessional, and shows a disregard for treating customers fairly. I would strongly caution others based on my experience. Read more Read less

    had no choice when came to useing these guys when got my new car as my dealer only used them.     2 weeks to process a refund, a joke of a company!

    Long story short, there was over a thousand pounds overpay on my statement, it took them two weeks ‘to investigate’, took me over 10 phone... Long story short, there was over a thousand pounds overpay on my statement, it took them two weeks ‘to investigate’, took me over 10 phone calls to finally get a refund from a person that finally took pity on me a processed it within 10 minutes, 10 minutes that’s how long it took and I’ve been fighting to get my money back for 2 weeks, while being constantly lie to - oh yeah you will get it tomorrow, next day? Oh yeah sorry my colleague made a mistake and it’s gonna be tomorrow, and so on for two weeks. Avoid this company as much as you can! Read more Read less

Transphobic Team promoting hate against LGBT+ individuals I have had a Finance Agreement with Alphera Financial since 2020 never missed a payment due to my job i was abroad working i transferred my car into my family’s member name who is also on the insurance incase if i was killed abroad as i went to work in a war ridden country. Alphera Sent me a letter while there have been numerous postal strikes and post being late they ask me to ensure the V5 is on my name and send proof of insurance the letter was dated on the 18th of Jan i got the letter on 9th of Feb, the deadline they gave me was until the 7th of feb as only two days difference i called them about 100 times there lines was closed i immediately took steps to rectify the problem i changed the car back and sent then all the required documents they agreed to review it with a manager i disclose to them i am also trans and i am starting to transition to a transgender at this point this discussions took a complete turn they are a bunch nasty disgusting racist discriminatory individuals they decided to terminate my contract because i breached the terms and missed the deadline by two days and now they intend on ruining my credit and my life by reporting it on my credit as default and i never missed one single payment of 696.00 a month I cannot believe they are allowed to get away with this and the UK government and regulatory authorities give these people the power to inflict harm abuse and discrimination to innocent members of society shameful Read more Read less
