Application Fiasco-Deko is one to avoid

Applied for 12 months interest free credit on a very small £500 order which I could have paid in full for but, decided to take advantage of the interest free option. However upon submitting my application I was surprised to learn that Deko or Pay4later as they are known- placed my application under review… they then later responded asking for all the same information that I had filled in on my application.. claiming that they could not find a credit file for me.! I have been registered on the electoral register for many years at the address I have lived at for over 16 years, have credit cards and a car loan… I find it very odd indeed and not at all believable. It’s fair to say they are incompetent and have mishandled my application. I am lodging an FCA complaint and alerting trading standards of their sharp practices as this fiasco has left me with a hard search on my credit file for no good reason!! Incompetent and tardy company and definitely one to avoid. No doubt they will respond with a generic fob off …as all poor quality companies invariably do! Reviewed on: 29th January 2023
