A comprehensive look at the Pros and Cons

HSBC Bank is a well-known financial institution with a global presence. As a customer who has been banking with HSBC for the last 4 years, I can attest to its reliability and the range of financial products and services it offers. Here is a quick review highlighting the Pros and Cons of HSBC Bank: Pros: Offers a wide range of financial products and services Has robust fraud protection measures in place Responsive and friendly customer service Reasonable and transparent fees Wide network of ATMs for easy access to cash when traveling Cons: Some customers have reported challenges with account opening process Longer wait times for customer service reported by some customers Higher fees for certain services Overall, HSBC Bank is a reliable and trustworthy financial institution, but it's always good to compare the options available before making a decision. Good account support, but when trying to report something suspicious, the branch staff doesn't really care Reviewed on: 12th January 2023

Shocking

1
HSBC are a disgrace. I applied for private banking following a promotion and new salary. After a week, some letters saying welcome they then black listed me for zero reason and shut my account. I called and was told they couldn't say what was wrong so I checked all of my credit reports, sent GDPR requests to agencies, the lot. All clean. So clearly someone completely messed up at HSBC. Will be staying well clear of them as my career and income progresses - they will see none of it. Reviewed on: 11th January 2023

Hard to get hold of

HSBC have an automated chatbot and it's difficult to send a secure message and so it's really hard to get hold of them when you need them. Reviewed on: 10th January 2023

Appalling customer service

The staff in the branch can't answer any other than basic questions and the online chat can not understand your questions. Reviewed on: 20th December 2022

No financial support

1
What a diabolical financial institution with no customer service. No support offered albeit on a short term basis. Call staff simply read from a script and if computer says no then that is that. You are not listened to, personal circumstances not taken into account, loyalty and impeccable credit history counts for nothing. I will be closing my account and go to a bank that shows a sense of compassion and empathy during the worst global economic crisis since WW2 and that look after the more vulnerable in society not just the heavy investors that line the pockets of the fat cats. The icing on the cake for me was when I asked for an email address so I could outline my situation in writing I was told that no email address available as not business critical (??!!) and I was to write to my branch should I feel the need!!! Really? In the 21st century that is the only way to correspond with your bank?? Disgraceful Reviewed on: 17th December 2022

Discrimination against disabled customer

1
I tried to apply for the current account switch and even though I can pay in the required amount within the period prescribed it appears that as a disabled person with the income I receive I don't qualify for the switch offer despite being able to meet the advertised requirements. Appalling!!! Reviewed on: 16th December 2022

Abysmal

1
Refused service point blank bringing in documents, unbelievable behaviour for a bank Reviewed on: 15th December 2022
