Total Loss for with this insurance provider

I renewed my car insurance for the second year in June 2024 with my UK provisional license. Upon passing my driving exam, I called customer service to update my insurance with my full UK license in July 2024. The insurance provider had doubled my monthly premium because of this update, to my total surprise I needed to cancel my insurance immediately as I called and updated them on my situation. This is my total loss of 2 years of continued holding the insurance policy. Due to this, I have to take another insurance on the high policy price which was not planned. I feel this is unfair to me. As an insurance company, my understanding is to feel safe after taking the insurance, but it worked the other way around for me. Reviewed on: 18th July 2024
