Review of the Caravan Guard, Motorhome insurance:

Genuinely a nice company to deal with!

Been with Caravan Guard for a couple of years now, and expect to be for a few more years to come. The comprehensive policy is, well…. comprehensive, and is decent value, if not necessarily the cheapest you could possibly get. The thing that swings it for me though, are the staff handling the calls. They’re always competent, seem to be suitably empowered to sort thing out without having to ‘ask my manager’, and are always relentlessly cheerful and polite whilst doing it, and I’ve done some fairly complicated with my insurance, e.g. porting over my NCD and private reg when they became available a month after my motorhome policy actually started. I asked about this when I took the policy out, and they said no problem. Lo and behold, a month later when the NCD/reg was available, I made the call and they made the change, applied the discount, gave me a refund for the difference, and didn’t make an admin charge (because I’d declared what I wanted to do at policy start). I don’t reckon many insurance companies would do that. I’ve also upgraded my policy ‘on the fly’ to include European breakdown cover, after a couple of days in France turned into 2 months in Europe. Again, absolutely no fuss, and not expensive £40. Reviewed on: 23rd July 2025

Very helpful insuring my first motorhome.

Very helpful insuring my first motorhome. Straightforward to deal with, and applied a great deal of common sense when I had NCD available to apply part way through the policy. Couldn't believe how reasonable the cost was compared to insuring my (far less valuable) car. Reviewed on: 23rd July 2024
