Alternative to a High Street Bank

I wanted a non high street bank that offered a good rate of interest without the risks associated with cash isa's. My wife and I would have preferred a joint account but single named accounts appear to be the norm in the market so we have gone along with it. The slight delay in crediting and retrieving funds is not something that puts me off especially as it is made perfectly clear before you sign up. All in all so far very happy with the account.
