PayPal provides peace of mind

PayPal offers an additional layer of security. It means I don't have to place debit or credit card details online. Having had my card cloned so I am security conscious. Some years ago I sold an antique watch on Ebay to a US buyer. Two weeks later the owner of the PayPal account queried the payment as fraudulent. PayPal found in the account holder's favour. Thankfully the seller protection meant I did not have to make a refund. It was a sizeable amount so I was much relieved. Reviewed on: 6th April 2026

Simple banking without frills, fluff or fees

I have been with Santander for many years, a legacy from Alliance & Leicester. My current account offers straightforward simple banking without unnecessary fluff and frills and there is no monthly fee. We still have a local branch albeit on reduced opening hours. I find the app excellent, it even let's me pay in cheques which before was the only reason I needed to visit the branch. Reviewed on: 6th April 2026

PayPal provides peace of mind

PayPal adds a layer of security so that I don't have to give debit or credit card details away online. Having had my debit card cloned in the past I am security conscious. PayPal reassures0 me. A few years ago I sold an antique watch to a US buyer on Ebay. Two weeks later the owner of the PayPal account disputed the payment saying it had never been authorised and was fraudulent. An investigation was carried out by PayPal who found in the account holder's favour. However the seller protection meant I did not have to make a refund. It was a lot of money so I was much relieved. Great peace of mind

I sold an expensive watch on Ebay to a US buyer. It was paid for via PayPal.. Two weeks later the account owner queried the sale claim no knowledge of it. PayPal advised me and requested all the information I held. They carried out and investigation eventually finding in favour of the account holder. PayPal informed me that I was covered by their seller insurance and did not need to make a refund. I thought this excellent and a great relief Reviewed on: 26th May 2025
