Review of the Leek Building Society, Savings:

Ridiculous service .

Opened a new account in branch went in to collect passbook and was told to provide identification which I dont have but it was the same person who had my details when I opened the account so they knew who I was so they said they would have to post it despite the fact that I live a lot closer to the branch than the postbox they would have to use due to limited post here by the time the weekend is over it will be at least 6 days before I get it Reviewed on: 7th February 2025

The Society takes the safety and security of our customer’s savings accounts very seriously and we wouldn’t typically provide any account details without first being able to verify their identity. Whilst we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, this is common practice amongst most banks and building societies and serves to protect customers from potential fraud and financial crime.
