Using Benefit Calculator for work

I recently used the Better Off Calculator and was genuinely impressed with how helpful and easy it was to use. It gave me a clear, realistic picture of how taking on a job or increasing hours would affect overall income — including any changes to benefits, tax credits, and other support. What I appreciated most was the breakdown of income before and after employment. It helped me see exactly where someone could gain and how it would impact theirhousehold budget. It’s reassuring to know that they would be better off financially by working more, and it’s taken a lot of the uncertainty out of planning their next steps. The tool is very user-friendly, even if you're not great with numbers, and it really helped boost my confidence about returning to work.
