Glad I joined.

After opening an account with East Kilbride Credit Union some spare cash I had I rarely added to my balance until I took out a secured loan for a holiday (my first time going abroad). I borrowed £1000 at a very cheap interest rate and paid it off in one year. The staff encouraged me to pay back the loan and a little extra towards my savings. I had never been a regular saver but after paying off my loan I realised that I could in fact afford to keep paying the same amount towards my savings and my savings increased quicker than I realised. I still save a small amount every month by direct debit and now I can just withdraw money from my account instead of applying for a loan again. Everything can be done easily online. It is really convenient. I can deposit or withdraw cash and apply for a loan via an app on my mobile phone. I have also found the staff to be very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I would encourage anyone to open an account, set up a direct debit and see your savings increase. Reviewed on: 30th June 2026

Becoming a member has encouraged me to save. I have also taken loans at an extremely low interest rate. Staff are very helpful and applying for a loan and withdrawing cash is simple and easy to do. Reviewed on: 10th April 2026
