Consultant in General Surgeon

I believe that doctors and nurses should be paying less for professional insurance for aesthetic procedures compared to beauticians or non-medical practitioners. The reasoning is simple: medical professionals have significantly more training, are strictly regulated, and are better equipped to handle complications or emergencies during procedures. This leads to a lower overall risk, which should be reflected in insurance premiums. Beauticians, while skilled in their own field, generally don’t have the same level of medical education, clinical experience, or regulatory oversight. That increases the potential risk of complications and claims, which justifies a higher insurance rate on their side. It makes sense that insurance premiums reflect actual risk—and qualified medical professionals performing aesthetic procedures usually present a much lower one. Reviewed on: 10th July 2025
