Serious leg injury in USA, Christmas Day 2024.

I was in the USA for Christmas in 2024. On Christmas Day I slipped on an icy patch and ruptured the quadriceps tendon in my right leg. My right leg completely stopped functioning. A friend drove me to an hospital in New Hampshire, where I was given numerous X-rays and a scan , and seen by an orthopaedic surgeon. My leg then needed to be kept straight in a brace until it could be operated on back in the UK., and the hospital gave me crutches. I contacted Saga. The person who I spoke to was brilliantly helpful and knowledgeable. He transferred my return flight to a different airline from the one I was booked on, because they were quicker to accept me as ‘fit to fly’; upgraded me so I could keep my leg straight, and arranged for assistance at both airports plus a car to collect me on landing in England. All very smoothly done with no hassle or worrying, and all costs covered. I couldn’t have wanted better. Brilliant. Reviewed on: 25th September 2025

Leg injury in USA

In December 2024 I was in the USA. On Christmas Day I slipped on snow, fell, and ruptured the quadriceps tendon in one leg. I was seen in Dartmouth Hospital (Saga covered all the fees) - I was due to fly back to the UK two days later, and because I had to keep the injured leg straight, I needed an upgrade to my flight. Saga arranged all that perfectly, as well as arranging assistance and a car to collect me at the UK airport. All done very smoothly. Reviewed on: 20th August 2025
