Revolut worked perfectly in India. Recommended.

Revolut worked perfectly in India while on holiday for both cash machines and hotels. Rupees were taken out of my rupee account when it was in credit. If not, money is taken out of the basic pound account. This happened to me once because I forgot about the 200 rupee fee at a particular ATM (nothing to do with Revolut or the card you are using). You don't actually need a rupee account because the exchange rate is the same. However, I would suggest using a rupee account just to keep track of spending. The net loss of transferring unspent rupees back to pounds is negligible when compared with the convenience and ease of tracking spending. Reviewed on: 10th December 2025
