Not thorough, waste of my time

I waited 3+ weeks for my application to process, with them gathering info piece by tiny piece, only to be told that they couldn't ever have processed it because the value of the property it too low. This should've been checked before I instructed solicitors, and before I paid the valuation fee. The whole process was a huge waste of my time and wouldn't have occurred if they'd just read my application in the first place (which I repeatedly asked my mortgage advisor to do). I am being refunded the valuation but I'm most upset about the waste of my time, and the potential of losing the house I am trying to purchase. Reviewed on: 4th February 2026
