Great alternative to online banking

I started using Monzo over a year ago to help with rebuilding my credit score and to generally control my finances. The ability to have separate pots (and virtual cards) for specific expenditure such as commuting, holidays, shopping etc makes it easy to manage budgets. The cashback offers are great and varied. Many options for savings and investments, including the 1p/day challenge which is simple but effective. All this and more is available on a very user-friendly app! Reviewed on: 9th February 2026
