Saga: £497 policy worthless despite FCDO safety warning

Avoid Saga Travel Insurance. I booked my trip August 2025 and have been a loyal SAGA travel insurance customer, paying £497 for a travel policy specifically to cover my travel to India via Abu Dhabi. Following the FCDO update on 28th February 2026 advising against travel, Saga is now using a "War" exclusion to avoid paying a legitimate claim. I am being told I cannot travel safely, yet I am being refused a refund. Is this how Saga treats its 73 year old policyholders? Claim 833559. Reviewed on: 3rd March 2026
