Review of the Zopa, Credit card:

Solid credit card but brand too similar to Zilch...

I’ve been using Zopa for their credit card and overall my experience has been quite positive. The app is simple, easy to navigate, and everything from setting up the card to tracking spending feels straightforward and well designed. One thing I particularly like is the design and positioning of the credit card itself. It doesn’t feel like an obvious “credit builder” card, which I personally appreciate. Some cards are very clearly marketed that way and it can feel a bit awkward using them. Zopa’s card feels more neutral and understated, which makes it feel more normal and less stigmatising to use. It’s a small detail but it actually makes a difference. The app also makes it easy to see transactions, understand what you owe, and manage repayments. Overall it feels transparent and modern compared with some older banking apps. One drawback for me is the branding and name. “Zopa” feels very similar to “Zilch”, another UK fintech, and when I first heard the name I genuinely thought they might be related. The short Z-style name and fintech aesthetic make them easy to confuse if you’re not paying close attention. I think the branding could be clearer and more distinctive. One more thing is I find it a bit annoying to constantly put my two layer verification in with a text message. Overall though, the product itself works well.
