I cancelled my contents insurance with nat west on...

I cancelled my contents insurance with nat west on renewel of policy. They informed me on the renewel by email on the 21st and new policy would start on 25th, 4 days! I canceled my direct debit straight away and proceeded to cancel by email on the 21st also informing of my decision. I presumed that was all done. I never received any documents confirming my new policy was up for renewal as promised and the email that was sent was just my luck i saw it in time or NOT! Being 75 years old my technology is not good. Anyway today i received a letter telling me i had not paid my monthly direct debit. After contactig nat west im told they did not receive any email cancelling? So i now have to pay £21 for cancelling! And a further amount due to not paying the months payment. Disgusting no compassion, i cancelled due too the yearly increase of £60 Reviewed on: 11th March 2026
