Great service from Chi but there were IT problems

I opened a joint Online Saver account with my wife. She was already a customer and I was not. The Saffron desktop website rejected my attempts to create a password. I eventually found out from Chi that my wife, as an existing customer, needed to be the first name on the account. After the account was opened my input of the temporary login password was also rejected. Advice from Chi was that I should create my login password by registering on the mobile app first. This worked and I was then able to log in on my desktop. So, I had to use two different workarounds that were both suggested by Chi. It would be a good idea to mention these on your FAQs. Also, the password specification mentions up to 30 characters. I was advised to try up to 15 characters. So I had great personal customer service from Chi but Saffron's IT system could do with an overhaul. Without Chi's assistance our account would never have been opened. We would have just given up and invested our money elsewhere. Reviewed on: 12th March 2026
