Appalling service.

Appalling service. I broke down in the middle of nowhere, on holiday, with virtually no phone signal and very poor mobile data so couldn't call them from the roadside. A very kind couple took me to a location less than 3 minutes away from my car where I could call the company. The woman taking my call kept insisting that I return to my car in order to give them a specific location by sending a pin as I was on a road that she couldn't find on her map. Despite my explaining again and again that this was impossible due to the lack of signal, she remained very unhelpful. Annoyingly, she was able to locate where I was making the phone call from but said that it was company policy that they couldn't send the breakdown people there as I had to be with my car- otherwise there would be a fine of £150. At one point, when I was in tears as I had no idea how else to describe my location, she told that they couldn't help me at all. It was only due to the kindness of local people to be able to help give the location of my car that I then received breakdown assistance. If they had not helped, I would have been left without any assistance whatsoever. When the woman told me that they wait could be up to two and half hours, I asked if I needed to be with my car or could wait in the cafe that I was making the call from. The lady told me that she would ask the agency to call me 10 minutes before they were due to arrive. I told the lady that I was a good 15 to 20 minute walk from my car and asked if the agency could please call withing this time frame so I wouldn't have to wait in a freezing car along with my dog, was told that no, they could only call me 10 minutes before. The lady then told me she would be calling back to let me know who would be coming and a more accurate time frame- great, except I asked her to please make sure she called back on the number for the cafe and not my mobile as I had zero signal- I asked her twice or even three times that this would happen and she assured me it would. 45 minutes later, with still no call back, I rang the company back only to be told that the breakdown people would be with me within the next 40 minutes and that they had called to let me know and left a voicemail....on my mobile. Whilst I understand the lady on the phone was simply following company policy, my whole experience was awful. I felt totally abandoned and helpless. I could not recommend a company less.
