Good price and simple claims procedure

I've been with Direct Line for my home insurance for several years now - although I always shop around at each renewal, they consistently give the best price for the level of cover I want. Earlier this year I was unfortunate enough to need to make a claim. I was very impressed with the speed and efficiency with which they handled the claim, and kept me informed at each stage of the process. Reviewed on: 5th November 2015

Great value

When the time came to renew my insurance, I did the standard "comparing Meercats", but then thought I'd give Direct Line a try, as I know they're famously not on the comparison sites. Their quote was far and away the cheapest, for a similar level of cover. I've not had cause to make a claim ( and hopefully I never will !! ), so I can't comment on their claims process, but they are one of the best-known names so I anticipate that, should the worst happen, there won't be any problems. Does what it says on the tin

For a standard, no-frills account I can't fault this. Easy to manage, very easy to contact customer services when you need to, and friendly helpful staff on the end of the phone. That's what you want when you just need to access your account with as little fuss as possible, and get on with the more important things in life. Reviewed on: 26th August 2015
