Not overly impressed.

Why was I allowed to open an ISA account/transfer monies in before I had seemily completed the application process? Reviewed on: 9th April 2026

Reply from Newbury Building Society Thank you for the review. We can confirm that, to support a positive online customer experience, we allow an account to be provisionally opened and funds accepted prior to receipt of the signed application form. This approach enables the account to be opened and funded as quickly as possible to begin to earn interest. The account is not fully activated, until all required documentation has been received and validated. This ensures we continue to operate fully in line with HMRC ISA regulations whilst meeting customer expectations. Response date: 9th April 2026
