Insurance by the mile makes me think twice about short journeys

Aside from the obvious benefits of By Miles such as, ease of use (plug in and go); the simple app; clear pricing and excellent policy coverage, there are ecological benefits too. Since starting in May this year I have been much more conscious about the mileage I travel in my car. I now choose to walk or cycle for shorter journeys and find that I use my car much less than I used to. These are a benefit both to my pocket and also to the environment. Cheap environmentally friendly car insurance

Since signing up with By Miles a couple of months ago I have seen a reduction in the amount of money I pay each month and not only that the fact that the insurance cost is calculated and displayed in the app has made me reconsider using my car for some journeys. For shorter journeys I now consider walking or taking public transport. This isn’t because of the cost, driving less than a mile to the shop and back costs less than £1, it’s because I’m now thinking wether I actually need to use my car at all! This isn’t something I considered when I first took out the insurance! The other features such as being able to read fault codes for the car has been a bonus as getting diagnostic codes read at a garage can cost between £25-£40. Ultimately, dealing with By Miles was very easy too. I could have a conversation with an advisor via telephone, email or on their website chat room service. Installing the plug in was simple too.
