Be very careful with the HSBC Advance breakdown cover

The extras on the Advance account need to be treated with caution, particularly the breakdown cover. I broke down at 9.30pm in a dangerous spot and despite the initial person I spoke to saying I would get priority treatment - as my daughter was with me who has mental health problems - they eventually sent a contractor out at 12.30. Over THREE hours later. When i called back I kept getting a different story. Not sure about being a fully-fledged RAC member, but the HSBC breakdown service has really gone to the dogs since they got involved. Disinterested, sleepy sounding call centre staff, just rubbish. Sounds like RAC is fobbing HSBC customers off with a really crappy package, and HSBC doesn't care as we all cough up every month for this so-called benefit. Reviewed on: 8th August 2019
