Acorn insurance-just don’t!

Acorn insurance….a huge, HUGE disappointment So, so disappointed in Acorn. I honestly thought they were better than the other insurance companies, turns out they just as bad! (If not worse!) I first brought my taxi insurance with Acorn two years ago. I had two ‘open’ claims awaiting resolution. In one, the third party had already been convicted of drunk driving and driving under the influence of a proscribed drug. In the other, the third party was convicted of careless driving and had been sent on a driving awareness course by Sussex Police. Clearly both cases were demonstrably not my fault. Due to inter-insurance arguing the cases were only resolved recently. As promised my two year no claims bonus was reinstated by Acorn. Over the two years my premiums totalled over TEN THOUSAND POUNDS! As Acorn promised when I originally took out the policy, a recalculation based on my now reinstated 2 year NCB was done. Acorn offered about £650! It should have been several thousand based on Acorns on discount policy. I have tried repeatedly to get this reviewed. I have sent numerous e-mails. I have made numerous phone calls…… I sent repeated attempts to engage, but received no meaningful response Just today I was promised a phone call from a manager at 1pm (I have the call recorded!). No phone call. I was told the recalculation department would be in touch….nothing! No response to any of my emails bar a short reply that had absolutely nothing to do with the points I raised. Acorn…you’re a disgrace. I have avoided making this review in the hope that Acorn would do the right thing. I hoped that this was all a big misunderstanding. Sadly, today was the final straw. To be promised a phone call and not receiving it is utterly shameful Acorn. Deeply unprofessional, lacking respect for your customers and places me with no further option but to escalate to the financial ombudsman If you are considering using Acorn, I have one word of advice….DON’T!
