Review of the Scottish Power, Boiler Cover:

Awful company

They blocked my switch with no good reason and tried to get me to stay with them. Distressing incidents. I was with Scottish Power for around 4 years, and I decided to find a new tariff. I was on their variable, so there should have been no problems switching. First I was told I had a debt of £77 (I was paying by direct debit and this was what was showing on my account and they had not previously contacted me about any debts). When I paid this they kept blocking the move saying that they had not generated a bill yet and then I was sent another bill of £165. When I paid that they continued to block. I was called by a bullyboy call centre staff and he sent me a ledger for the bill (no bills had yet been generated). Everytime I called to speak to them, the call assistants were giving me a different story and kept asking how they can make me stay. In fact their billing has lacked transparency and this is why I am moving to another supplier. Once, when I called to find out about why there was credit on my bill once, they produced a bill which then brought me into debit. Shocking!See less Reviewed on: 5th June 2026
